Here is a detailed explanation of how it works.
Quick guide:
1. You place our Poo Paper in the inner diaper and put the diaper on your baby (same handling as with disposable diapers).
2. The Judes Paper catches the stool. You dispose of the Judes Paper in the trash, and the inner diaper goes into the wet bag.
3. The wet bag, along with the diapers, goes into the washing machine. At 60°C and 1000 spins, everything comes out clean again.
4. Dry - and start over!
By the way: Using Judes for washing takes about 15 minutes per week.
Disposable diapers generate about 1 tonne of plastic waste per child during the entire diapering period. For each additional child, the same amount of plastic waste is added.
There are compostable disposable diapers and disposable diapers made from recycled plastic, but they cannot be composted or recycled in waste systems. They end up in general waste.
Approximately 8% of general waste in Germany is caused by disposable diapers.

Classic Set Part-Time
This set is usually used with Judes for half the time. This set includes only one size, so it can only be used for about half of the diapering duration. Disposable diapers create 1 tonne of plastic waste, hence about 500 kg of plastic waste is created in half the diapering time. Since parents use the Part-Time Set with Judes half the time, they can prevent 250 kg of plastic waste with the Judes Classic Part-Time Set.
Classic Set Small
This set is usually used with Judes 75% of the time. We assume that half of the diapering time is spent with this set, as it includes only one size. This way, 375 kg of plastic waste can be prevented with this set.
Classic Set Standard and All-In
This set is usually used entirely with Judes. We assume that half of the diapering time is spent with this set, as it includes only one size. Thus, for 1 tonne of plastic waste, half, i.e., 500 kg of plastic waste, can be prevented with this set.
Premium Sets
The Premium Sets include both sizes, so they can be used with Judes for the entire diapering period. When using the Premium Part-Time Set, 500 kg of plastic waste is prevented by Judes. With the Small Set, it's 750 kg, and with the Premium Sets "Standard" and "All-In," about 1 tonne of plastic waste is prevented by disposable diapers.

The average of these prices is 32 cents. This is the diaper price we have used in the following calculations.
Children should be changed every 2-3 hours, so we assume 7 diapers a day (in 24 hours). We also assume that children using disposable diapers need to be diapered for an average of 3 years.
From these assumptions, the following calculation arises:
3 years × 365 days × 7 changes × €0.32 = €2,434.
Additionally, the costs for a diaper pail (€15), refill cartridges (approx. €67 per year), wipes (approx. €98 per year), and changing pads (approx. €17 per year) must be calculated. We assume in our calculation that 9 wipes a day are used at €0.03 each (average price). This results in a total cost of €561 for disposable diaper accessories.
The costs from disposable diapers and accessories amount to a total of €2,995 after 3 years of diapering.
This means that about €1,000 in costs from disposable diapers arise each year. However, many children require disposable diapers for longer than 4 years (about 25% of children). Therefore, using disposable diapers can become a cost trap.

Even if we take the inexpensive Babylove diapers (dm store brand), according to the calculation above, we still reach €996. Here, too, the costs for diaper accessories amount to €561. In this extremely cheap case, we arrive at total costs of €1,557.

The larger the set of Judes, the less frequently you need to wash. For example, with an All-In set, you only need to wash your Judes every 4 days. Therefore, a larger set also results in lower washing costs.
Cost calculation per Judes set
We assume the average diapering time with Judes to be 2 years and 3 months. We assume that you are diapering full-time with the Judes Family.
Each wash load costs 71 cents (approximately 41 cents for electricity and water, and about 30 cents for detergent costs). Some washing machines are cheaper, others are more expensive. Here you can calculate your exact washing costs.
Per dryer load, it costs about 0.50 cents with a modern dryer and about €1.20 with an old dryer. In this calculation, we take the average value of 0.85 cents.
Washing costs depending on the set size
Part-Time (washing would be required every day): 365 days x 2 years and 3 months x 0.71 cents = €583. The dryer costs would be €822.
Small (washing would be required every second day): 182 days x 2 years and 3 months x 0.71 cents = €291. The dryer costs would be €411.
Standard (washing would be required every third day): 122 days x 2 years and 3 months x 0.71 cents = €194. The dryer costs would be €233.
All-In (washing would be required only every fourth day): 122 days x 2 years and 3 months x 0.71 cents = €146. The dryer costs would be €175.
Conclusion
